Smallpeice Trust Partners with Amazon Future Engineer for Second Year, Launching Computing, Electronics & Robotics Residential Course

The Smallpeice Trust is proud to announce its second-year partnership with Amazon Future Engineer to launch the anticipated Computing, Electronics & Robotics residential course, following the success of last year’s event. This one-of-a-kind initiative aims to inspire and equip students with the knowledge and essential skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven society.

Amazon Future Engineer, Amazon’s comprehensive education programme, is designed to provide young people from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds with the skills and resources to pursue careers in computer science and technology.

Computing Electronics & Robotics, open to students currently in Year 12, is designed to immerse them in hands-on learning experiences, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Through workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions delivered by academics at The University of Southampton, participants will explore the fundamentals of coding and circuit design with the opportunity to design, build and test robots and compete in team competitions.

“At Amazon Future Engineer, we are committed to empowering the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers," said Vojtech Tichavsky at Amazon Future Engineer. "Our partnership with the Smallpeice Trust allows us to provide students with hands-on learning experiences that not only spark their passion for technology but also equip them with the important skills needed to be successful in the rapidly evolving tech industry. We are excited to continue supporting the Computing, Electronics & Robotics residential course, which will inspire and prepare students for future careers in STEM fields."

The course will take place over five days at The University of Southampton, enabling students to network with industry professionals and gain valuable insight into the diverse career pathways available within STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths). Furthermore, students will have access to the university’s state-of-the-art facilities.
