What

Local Secondary Schools will enter teams of six students aged 13-14 to work together on an underwater-themed project.

Using Lego, your team will design and build a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) from scratch. Then, you'll program your ROV to navigate an obstacle course and gather data on the impact of plastic pollution on the marine environment.

Teams will then program their vehicles to navigate a challenging course and conduct a simulated survey of an underwater nature reserve. This hands-on experience will allow students to investigate firsthand how plastic pollution is impacting the delicate subsea environment.

Schools from across the UK are invited to participate. While transportation to the regional venue is the responsibility of each school, we encourage all interested teams to get there by 9am on the day of the event.

This is a great chance to focus your students on a STEM challenge, with team building elements and the chance to win a trip to Aberdeen for the National Final.
