Andrew Parker
Andy has recently retired as a Partner at Buro Happold where he established their office in India and led the Science and Technology Sector. He is a Chartered Building Services Engineer and has spent most of his career working on the design and delivery of Research & development laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and Industrial projects. Having lived and worked in Continental Europe, China, India, and North America he has a broad perspective of design and engineering around the world especially in the built environment.
Andy is passionate about interdisciplinary design and the value that is created when different disciplines work together in an interactive way. He was on the initial intake for the University of Cambridge’s Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment Masters and an advocate for education that focuses on a multi-disciplinary STEAM approach to problem-solving.
Andy is motivated by helping and supporting the least advantaged to be able to succeed through a career in engineering.
Outside professional activities, Andy is a keen adventurer traveler enjoying, hiking, mountaineering, canyoning, ski mountaineering, on and off-road motorbiking, and cycling.
